Domain name policy
Stayloom registers international domains in its own name to manage them technically on the Host's behalf, but the Host is the beneficiary and may transfer the domain away at any time once fully paid up. .vn domains are always registered in the Host's name.
Version: DOM-v1.0
1. Choosing a domain
- The Host proposes a domain; Stayloom checks it is available and quotes the price before payment. The default is
.com; other extensions are charged at the published price. - The Host ensures the domain does not copy or cause confusion with someone else's trademark or trade name. Stayloom may refuse domains that appear to infringe.
2. International domains (.com, .net, .homes…)
- The owner of Stayloom is the registrant as manager on behalf of the Host.
- The Host is the beneficiary of the domain. Stayloom undertakes not to:
- sell, rent or transfer the domain to anyone else;
- point the domain at anything other than the Host's Website or a suspension notice page;
- hold the domain to demand any payment beyond those set out in these documents.
- The public registration data (WHOIS/RDAP) shows Stayloom's details; the Host's personal data is not made public.
3. .vn domains
- Registered in the Host's own name through a registrar licensed in Vietnam, under Decree 147/2024/ND-CP.
- The Host provides accurate identification details and is responsible for their accuracy.
- Stayloom is only authorised to manage DNS to operate the Website.
.vnfees follow the registrar's price list and are quoted before payment.
4. Renewal
- When the Host has paid on time under Part C, Stayloom is responsible for renewing before expiry.
- If the domain expires through Stayloom's fault although the Host paid on time, Stayloom bears the full redemption fee and compensates direct loss under Article 12 of Part B.
5. Transferring the domain away from Stayloom
- The Host may request a transfer at any time, once all amounts due have been paid.
- Administrative fee: 20 USD. Free from the third Service Term; if Stayloom stops the Service; if Stayloom commits a serious breach; or if the Host does not accept a change to the terms under Article 16 of Part B.
- Within 5 working days, Stayloom does one of the following, as the Host chooses: changes the registrant to the Host, or unlocks the domain and provides the transfer code (auth code) so the Host can move it to another registrar.
- Under ICANN rules, a newly registered domain or one whose registrant has just changed may be locked against registrar transfer for 60 days. Stayloom states clearly when the lock ends.
- Hosting does not go with the domain. The Host receives the Host Content export under Article 14, or buys the Exit Package under Article 14A of Part B to take the whole Website.
6. Domain disputes
If a third party claims the domain (including under the UDRP), Stayloom notifies the Host immediately. The Host is responsible for resolving it and for the costs; Stayloom cooperates by providing documents. Stayloom implements the decisions of the competent dispute resolution bodies.
7. Not included
Email mailboxes on the domain are not included in the plan unless Stayloom announces otherwise.
